Andrew Swift & Amber Lawrence Drop Duet

May 3, 2024 - News

Two of Australia’s favourite country music artists, Andrew Swift and Amber Lawrence, have unveiled a duet called Fumes And Fireworks.

A mid-tempo tune, the song opens with Lawrence’s soothing, comfortable voice before Swift shares a verse with her, offering additional warmth before the bright chorus arrives. It’s the kind of duet that really feels like one, with both singers equally represented and showcasing their unique sets of skills as singers and songwriters.

Fumes And Fireworks hits its highest point at the bridge, in which Lawrence and Swift urge listeners to “light it on up” like gasoline. You can listen to the song below.

Posting about the song’s release on Facebook this morning (3 May), Swift wrote, “Today’s the day! Fumes and Fireworks is out everywhere, stream it on your preferred platform, buy it on iTunes, share it with friends, use it on your TikTok’s, most importantly… Amber Lawrence & I hope you enjoy it.”

Lawrence added, “Our new song is out today! I love this song.. a collab with Andrew Swift… it’s called Fumes & Fireworks and it’s available now.”

Today and tomorrow (4 May), Lawrence and Swift will appear at the inaugural Melbourne Muster at the Caribbean Gardens in Scoresby. Will punters get to witness the live debut of Fumes And Fireworks?

They appear on the line-up alongside Hoodoo Gurus, Lee Kernaghan, Joe Camilleri & The Black Sorrows, Beccy Cole, Kingswood, Taylor Sheridan, and more. You can find all the information you need about the festival here.

Earlier this year, Lawrence opened for ‘80s legends Go West and Nik Kershaw on the first dates of their national tour after releasing an emotional jaunt called 5 Years Of You. In announcing its release, she described the track as her “heartfelt, self-penned song about my five-year-old starting school and all of the emotions that go with life’s changes and big milestones”.

In recent Andrew Swift news, the singer was recently added to the 2024 CMA Fest line-up after being named Ambassador of the 2024 Gympie Music Muster.
