Bryce Sainty Graduates University With Teaching Degree

May 13, 2024 - News

Australian country artist Bryce Sainty has added a few more letters to his credentials, graduating university with a Bachelor of Education, majoring in secondary music.

In a post shared on Facebook, the Coast singer explained that he took up studying during COVID lockdowns: “In 2020, a world that severely restricted the music industry, I decided to fill my time studying.”

It’s not like he wasn’t busy during 2020 though, releasing three singles: On The Weekend, Nervous, and pop hit Do You Remember. He was also named Spotify’s 2020 Artist To Watch.

Despite lockdowns eventually lifting, as well as restrictions on live performances, Sanity continued his educational pursuits at the University of New England – while still focusing on his music career. “I am not one for giving up so I decided to well and truly overcommit myself and finish the degree,” he said. “Thank you to my wife, family and friends who helped me balance all of this.”

His education has not stood in the way of his music career at all. In fact, the musician has catapulted into the national spotlight, spending the past few years touring with various country icons. Some of his most notable endeavours include a run supporting The Wolfe Brothers on tour, and teaming up with the likes of Andrew Farris (of INXS), Tim Freedman (The Whitlams) and Rod McCormack for a songwriters’ showcase at the Tamworth Country Music Festival.

Also in his Facebook post, Sainty also teased some “exciting things to come”. He added: “I am excited to continue releasing music as well as share my knowledge with a new generation of musicians.”

Sanity has previously credited his music career to Keith Urban’s Golden Road album, saying it made him fall in love with country music. The singer was one of Countrytown’s Centre Stage artists last year.
