Casey Barnes Announces Fifth Album 'Mayday'

April 4, 2024 - News

Less than a month after sharing his forthcoming fifth album’s title track, Mayday, Casey Barnes has announced that the LP will be released on Friday, 31 May.

Barnes offered the first taste of Mayday last year with the anthemic Summer Nights. Following the release of that single, he released a trio of songs: Miracles, Never Give Up On A Good Time, and Boys Like Me—all notably topping Countrytown’s National Airplay Chart before kicking off 2024 with the single, Mayday. You can watch the music video below.

For the album, Barnes was joined by Melbourne’s dynamic production duo MSquared (Michael DeLorenzis and Michael Paynter) and Andrew Maury (Mayday, the single). He also teamed up with a group of A-list co-writers: Morgan Evans, Danielle Blakey, Jordan Dozzi, Dwayne O’Brien, Bobby Huff, Eric Paslay, Kaci Brown, Samuel Gray, Jason Nix, Phil Barton, and David Mescon.

On his upcoming album, Barnes commented in a press release, “I’ve spent the last two years working the hardest I’ve ever worked before, and I couldn’t be any prouder of this record; I’ve been lucky enough to team up with some incredible songwriters, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it! This album is definitely for the fans, and I’m fortunate enough to have the best ones out there!”

On Facebook, he also teased the announcement of album launch shows.

Michael Chugg of Chugg Music said about working with Barnes, “The last four years have been an incredibly rewarding time for me since Chugg Music began our relationship with Casey.

“To be part of the incredible growth of Casey as performer, songwriter and a person with hit after hit, #1 songs and albums, a huge loyal fan base that continues to grow worldwide and numerous ARIA, APRA and Golden Guitar awards and a growing respect in the USA culminating with his featured spot at Stagecoach later this month gives us great satisfaction.

“The new album Mayday has taken a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, and I know that it is a powerful statement that will stamp Casey as worthy of international stardom.”
