Morgan Wallen Arrested In Nashville On Felony Charges

April 8, 2024 - News

Country star Morgan Wallen was taken into custody by Nashville police last night after an incident at Chief’s Bar on Broadway. He was released a few hours later.

According to an arrest report, police officers were standing in front of the bar when a chair fell from above, hitting the ground just feet from where they were standing. It is alleged that Wallen threw the chair from the sixth floor of the building, endangering the lives of the Metro Police officers involved.

Wallen was charged with three counts of reckless endangerment and one of disorderly conduct for the two officers who were in the vicinity and for the danger to the public, the arrest report stated. He was also charged with one count of disorderly conduct with his bond set at $15,250.

Wallen’s lawyer released a short statement saying: “At 10:53pm Sunday evening Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is cooperating fully with authorities.”

It is not Wallen’s first time in trouble with the law, with his last arrest in 2020 after disorderly, intoxicated conduct at Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk also landed him in hot water. This week’s incident happened at Eric Church’s new bar Chiefs which celebrated its grand opening across the weekend.

Wallen’s court date is set for May 2 according to the Davidson County Criminal court, with his tour already hitting Nashville that week with dates slated for May 2 and 3 at Nissan Arena.

Morgan Wallen had a spectacular 2023 becoming one of the most streamed artists on the planet. Here in Australia, he surpassed Billy Ray Cyrus’ record for the longest-running #1 ARIA single with Last Night and made a trip down under for CMC Rocks.

It is not expected that the current arrest will result in interruptions to his extensive US touring which is slated to continue through till August where he wraps up in Las Vegas.
