Canadian Deer Hunter Shows Off Incredible Mount After Bringing Down A 2-For-1 Buck

Two-for-one buck deal?

I would say a hunt like this would be every deer hunter’s dream… but I doubt hunters ever dream this big. A Canadian hunter by the name of Brock Maksymiw brought down a sizable buck in Saskatchewan, and I’d try to guesstimate on the score if it weren’t so complicated to compute. Why do I say that?

It was a double-headed kill.

The buck was initially taken in 2023, but the pictures of the mount have been spreading online, and it’s one of those situations where you feel like your eyes are deceiving you. Drury Outdoors shared a couple of different photos when they shared the story. One is the two-headed deer caught on a trail camera, and the other shows Maksymiw holding up his trophy after he successfully bagged and tagged it.

It’s unclear where this deer was brought down, though one could assume it was near Brock’s hometown of Yorkton, Saskatchewan – which is a city in Canada. And to make sure there’s no confusion, this trophy buck (or bucks?) is not a creature that was born with two heads. Some people in the comments below the post have been confused by that.

Instead, it appears to be a deer that got into a scuffle with another, perhaps over territory or for the right to mate. Only one of those deer evidently won the battle, and though they were victorious, they had the unpleasantry of carrying around the other deer’s head and antlers for the time being. It must have been one ugly, ferocious fight.

If we’re trying to find a silver lining here, at least the buck that was still alive doesn’t have to deal with carrying around an entire other deer’s deadhead anymore:

“Double-Headed Buck Taken! You don’t see something like this every day. Makes you wonder how long he walked around locked up.”

What an incredible trophy. When you find a buck dragging around a deadhead, it’s usually rotted much more than this one, probably not great for a dual mount. But this one? Great condition.

Wouldn’t you hate to be friends with Brock Maksymiw? Especially if you hunt with him? No matter what story you have to tell, the Canadian man can always rebuttal with, “Well I killed a buck that had another buck’s head and antlers attached to it.” If you are reading this Brock, I don’t mean to be rude… but I think we both know you’ll always have this hunt in your back pocket to brag about.

From the looks of it, the kill will also forever live inside of Brock’s home as well. For those wondering if the Canadian hunter would get his two trophy bucks mounted, this picture below that Maksymiw posted should adequately answer your question:

Quite possibly the coolest mount I’ve ever seen.

Despite there being some skepticism in the comment section below the post (most was cleared up as people understood it wasn’t a conjoined-twin situation), many others were just in awe of Brock Maksymiw’s impressive kill-one-get-one-free trophy buck:

“Wow, that’s crazy!”

“Should have let it walk! Been a struggle to make it this long.”

“How wild would it be to see that?”

“One or two tags needed?”

“Can’t imagine the taxidermist’s face seeing the guy bring this in.”
