Wildlife Photographer Captures Stunning Video Of Bison Herd Grazing In Grand Teton National Park

Nature truly is a beautiful place.

Anyone else frantically trying to find out how to make this video below into their wallpaper? It doesn’t get much better than seeing a peaceful herd of bison grazing with the Teton Mountain Range in the background. If you look up “picturesque” in the dictionary, it would probably reference you to a video like this.

Isaac Spotts, a 25-year-old wildlife photographer from Wyoming, is getting a lot of attention online for this majestic scene that he caught on camera. Spotts boasts over 1 million followers online, and for good reason. He’s always providing exquisite photos and video like the one that’s linked below.

In this clip, a bison herd can be seen calmly traversing the flats, chowing on grass with the Teton Mountain Range (part of the Rocky Mountains) framing the entire shot. The view is breathtaking, and it almost makes you a little jealous that these bison get the chance to live out in it and experience all that nature has to offer on a daily basis.

Then you remember creature comforts like heating/air and streaming services and you begin to rethink that a bit.

You’ll probably notice that the bison herd seems to be spread out a bit. That’s not out of norm, and neither is the amount of 2,000 pound beasts that are traveling together in this video. Bison are considered to be social animals, so they prefer to travel in groups. Bison herds can be as small as 10 animals, or as large as thousands. It often depends on the season of the year (breeding season in July and August usually leads to the biggest herds of the year).

It appears that there’s 15 to 20 bison in this herd, and though they are spread out, they’d come back together quickly if they felt threatened. There might not be another creature in the animal kingdom that better exhibits “herd mentality.” Time and time again, we’ve seen bison use the strength in numbers strategy when predators attack.

But the bison in this video below aren’t in any trouble. There’s no danger lurking nearby (if there is, we just can’t see it). There’s no snow they’re having to trudge through. To be honest, it looks like the conditions in this footage could not be more perfect. It’s a magnificent moment in time captured through a lens thanks to wildlife photographer Isaac Spotts.

The scene of the bison grazing in front of the Tetons is so perfect that the Wyoming native captioned it with this:

“Humans saw this and created cubicle jobs.”

He makes a good point there.

That would be quite the view to have on an everyday basis. For Spotts, the outdoors kind of act as his office… so he’s a lucky man. And the thought of that, paired with the gorgeous video that the photographer provided, led to many social media users wishing they could “work from home” from the very spot this video was taken:

“I want my cubical to be out in that field.”

“Give me the mountains and outdoors any day!”

“It’s too bad that looking at mountains doesn’t pay the bills.”

“Absolutely the best medicine and way to take away stress.”

“This place really needs a Walmart.”

There’s always that one guy…
