Sounds like Parker McCollum is still not feeling 100%.
Over the weekend, he got sick during a show in State College, Pennsylvania, which was part of the first weekend of his What Kinda Man tour. He had to run offstage during a song because he knew he was about to get very sick, and wound up canceling the rest of the show because he was too ill to continue.
He did refund all the tickets and promised to return sometime this year for the full concert, and to his credit, Parker really tried to get through the concert, but it seems like even the crowd noticed that he wasn’t feeling well.

After a few songs it became clear that he wasn’t going to be able to make it, and he ended the show early and told the crowd that he would be refunding their ticket:
“Penn State I apologize sincerely, I’m going to call the show. I’ll give each and every single one of y’all your money back. It is from the deepest part of my heart that I apologize for having to do this. I’ve never done this in all the years I’ve been singing country music. I apologize sincerely. I hope you guys will forgive us. We will come back and make it up. I will give every penny you spent tonight back to you. Thank you so much.”
@alliecheeto thank you for at least playing us half of the show @parkermccollum 🙌🏻 he said he was throwing up 15 mins before the show but wanted to give us what he could… mad respect to him for not canceling the whole show tho🤝🏻 he made it about halfway through the setlist and honestly sounded so good until the last 2 songs he sang🥲 it’s ok Parker, we still love you! feel better🫶🏻 #parkermccollum #pennstate #feelbetter #whatkindamantour2025 #fyp ♬ original sound – alliecheeto
And after the show, he once again apologized on social media:
“State College, PA…I am sorry about tonight…was getting pretty sick before the show and tried to make it through. Sadly, I couldn’t make it happen. Definitely not how we wanted the show to go, but we are going to make it up to you very soon. Details will be coming soon.”

It’s clear that Parker felt horrible both because he was sick, and because he had to cancel on fans, and this afternoon, he posted a lengthy update on Instagram explaining to fans exactly what happened, and apologized again:
“Just wanted to give y’all kind of a quick update as to what happened Saturday night in Pennsylvania at Penn State. Long story short, I was in the meet and greet before the show, I had about two people left and all of a sudden just out of nowhere, bam, I felt in my stomach. I said man, I’m about to be very very sick. I knew that something was pretty wrong.
I spent about an hour sitting with my head in my lap trying to kinda make myself throw up just try to see if that would make me feel better. I couldn’t really do it. Showtime rolled around, decided to try and give it a go.
Go out there, felt okay the first couple of songs, and then the more I was singing and pushing, you know, it became apparent, and I’m sure y’all could tell in the crowd, that I was not doing well up there.”
He says he’d “never” had to walk off in the middle of a show like that before, adding how thankful he was for his fans understanding.
Parker also said he didn’t even make it to his bus before he got sick, saying he was “in the bushes for about 10 minutes”:
“Just as violently sick as I’ve ever been in my entire life. Spent about the next 48 hours basically in the fetal position, you know, just incredibly sick, just unbelievably ill as I’ve ever been in my entire life.
Wish that on nobody, but you know, I’m feeling a little better now. I think will be good to go for this week in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Maine, but that was the first week of ‘What Kind Of Man tour,’ not how I wanted it to go.
I just really appreciate all the fans there in Pennsylvania for showing up. The crowd was electric. The arena was sold out, everything was teed up to have a great show in that first week of the tour, start on such a great note… and could not have been more of the opposite.”
Parker once again thanked fans for their support and understanding, saying that he’s working on a date to return and will give an update as soon as he has one.
I know any artist hates to cancel a show, especially because of illness and in this way, but Parker has handled it with a lot of class and I’m sure his fans will be glad to see him back in Pennsylvania once he’s feeling much healthier and ready perform at a high level again:
“So again, I appreciate you guys understanding, you have my word we are working on a date sometime this year to come back and make that show up to you guys. I really appreciate the support and everybody reaching out and checking on me. I’m getting a lot better, not 100% yet, wish I was. Certainly, I think, by tomorrow I’ll probably be back on top of my game.
But man, I just wanted to say thank you, let y’all know we are gonna come back and make it up. As soon as I have that date, I’ll get back on here and let you guys know when that makeup show will be.
Man just again, thank you for understanding, that was incredibly tough for me and I just hated to disappoint you guys so as soon as we have the date, I’ll let you know and thank you guys. God bless. Peace.”
Feel better soon, Parker. You can watch his full update here:
