The longest Tweet known to man.
Jason Kelce is sharing his thoughts from Super Bowl LIX. This championship game was quite different for the former Eagles center, who observed the games from a different angle this year. After announcing his retirement at the end of the 2023-2024 season, I am sure he has a little resentment hanging up his jersey had he known he could have faced off against his brother in one final Super Bowl.
However, since we can’t predict the future, Kelce chose to end his career at a great time. He had a long, successful career and was one of few players who could call one team home throughout his NFL career.
Because there was another Eagles versus Chiefs match-up in New Orleans, Kelce found himself in a tricky position. He wanted his family to succeed, as his brother Travis plays for the Kansas City team, while also wanting the coaches and teammates he’s played with for years to bring home the Lombardi Trophy to Philly.
After collecting his thoughts after the Eagles defeated the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, Jason took to social media to post a heartfelt message to both teams.
“Congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles, my former teammates, and friends on being SB LIX Champions!! There were a lot of emotions last night, and now that I’ve collected my thoughts, I’ll attempt to share them in the longest tweet ever.
That game was odd for me to watch if I’m being completely honest. I knew it was going to be mixed emotions before, during, and after, and I now know what my parents had to deal with two years ago. On one hand, I wanted what is best for my brother, and to see his success. And on the other hand, there are so many people, teammates, and coaches, in the Philadelphia Eagles organization that I care deeply about, Many of whom I owe my own success to throughout my career.
I am very proud for Jalen Hurts, Nick Sirianni, and this entire team. They have persevered greatly, answered their critics amazingly, and proved themselves to be undoubtedly the best team this season. It is extremely difficult for a team in the NFL to have enough talent, coaching, fortune, and character to win a Super Bowl. The character and swagger of this Eagles team was something truly special to behold. A true representation of the toughness and grit that makes Philadelphia what it is. Well done fellas, well f***ing done.”
Did anyone else choke up a little bit reading that?
Even though he’s removed from the Eagles franchise as a player, Kelce still respects his teammates and the coaching staff. His gratitude towards this team for all they did for him throughout his career is palpable through these words.
Of course, while Jason Kelce is stoked that his Eagles played their heart out in NOLA, his heart also goes to his brother, who is processing the loss that would have made NFL history. It’s a double-edged sword as Kelce, for the first time, experienced what his parents felt each time he and his brother faced off against each other.
“As for my brother, There isn’t a person I love or care about more. It has been tough to process these feelings, of course I feel for him and am always rooting for him, but I know he does not need, nor want my pity. He has amassed greatness few on this planet could ever dream of, as has his team, and they should feel pride in their accomplishments this season and in the past. I know right now they are still thinking of last night and the shortcomings in the last game. But in time that will fade, and the greatness they have exhibited as a group will remain as one of the most dominant eras of football ever.
Man I love this sport, the people that play it, and the fans that enjoy it. Nothing else like it. Congratulations Philadelphia, I look forward to the speeches and celebrations that will happen in the coming days. I mean who doesn’t love a parade! In the words of Chase Utley “World F*cking Champs”, and to all the haters out there, remember what my man Jay Ajayi said “F*ck Em”
Go Birds”
Congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles, my former teammates, and friends on being SB LIX Champions!! There were a lot of emotions last night, and now that I’ve collected my thoughts, I’ll attempt to share them in the longest tweet ever.

THIS is how you do it. THIS is a class act.
These words are why Jason Kelce is one of the NFL’s most beloved players and now a beloved commentator. He is authentic, caring, compassionate, and a leader by example. Many of his followers praised him for his thoughtful words to conclude the 2024-2025 season.
Now, I hope we see Jason out and about getting rowdy with all of his former teammates and coaches during the Super Bowl Parade.
While you’re here check out his speech from 2018. It’s epic!
