Joy Behar Under Fire For Sexist Claim That White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt Only Got Her Job Because “She’s A 10”

Women supporting women, eh?

Of course the women of The View have revealed themselves time and time again as nothing more than a bunch of liberal partisan hacks who only support those who agree with them on pretty much everything. The show is basically just an echo chamber for the most far-left viewers, and a laughingstock to pretty much everybody else.

So it’s no surprise that they have a problem with Karoline Leavitt.

If you’re not familiar, President Donald Trump announced Leavitt would serve as press secretary, making her the youngest press secretary in history at just 27 years old.

Despite her age, Leavitt has plenty of experience to prepare her for the job. She started out as an intern at Fox News while in college, as well as interning in the White House Office of Presidential Correspondence.

After graduating college, Leavitt joined the White House Press Office as an assistant to then-Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany. And following the first Trump administration, she went to work as communications director for then-Representative Elise Stefanik of New York.

Leavitt ran for Congress in her home state of New Hampshire back in 2022, winning her primary before losing in the general election to the incumbent Democrat. And after her campaign, Leavitt was hired as the national press secretary for Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.

Seems pretty qualified, right?

Well according to Joy Behar, she only got the job because of her looks.

Leavitt hosted her first press briefing yesterday afternoon, and put on a pretty impressive performance by addressing the media with no binders or notes – a stark contrast to her predecessors.

But when discussing the new press secretary’s briefing this morning on The View, Behar claimed that Leavitt only got the job because of her looks:

“She’s probably been put in there because according to Donald Trump, she’s a 10. You know that’s what it is.”

Keep it classy.

Aside from the sexism in her remarks, she’s clearly dismissing Leavitt’s impressive resume that makes her just as qualified as anybody else who’s held the position.

And it didn’t take long for her to get called out:

So much for the “tolerant left” and their narrative of supporting women. Of course we know that only applies when those women believe the same things they do.

It’s just the latest in a long line of stupid things to come from the mouths of the brainiacs on The View since Trump was elected for a second time. Back in November, hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin said that Americans should skip Thanksgiving with their family members who supported Trump.

And just two weeks ago, after it was announced that Carrie Underwood would be performing “America the Beautiful” during Trump’s inauguration ceremony, Behar questioned how Carrie could “love her country” and still perform at…the presidential inauguration:

“I would not normalize him. She says, ‘I love our country.’ How do you love your country and support and normalize somebody who was a convicted felon who really wants to destroy the country, in my opinion?

I don’t understand how you say you love your country at the same time as you normalize this convicted felon.”

Of course Behar then exposed her own hypocrisy when she seemed to contradict herself with her very next sentence, saying that she wouldn’t tell someone they shouldn’t perform at the inauguration:

“I would not be the person to say, ‘Don’t do it.’ Because I believe in free speech and everything about it. I personally would not do it.”

Can you at least be intellectually honest and admit that you don’t care about supporting women? You only care about supporting women who think the same way you do.

As for Leavitt, I’m sure she’s not too worried about the criticism from Behar. In fact, yesterday she announced that the White House would be opening up the press briefings to new “non-traditional” media, including podcasters and influencers, as opposed to just mainstream media outlets.

Maybe I should apply and start going to these briefings myself. What questions should Whiskey Riff ask the White House Press Secretary?
