Ashley McBryde has detailed her most embarrassing red carpet moment, which involved a potentially transparent dress and a missing pair of Spanx.
“most embarrassing red carpet reveal? oh boy do I have a STORY for you!” she wrote in a new post to social media.
Across four pictures, the One Night Standards singer explained a horrifying ordeal in which, right before heading to a red carpet, she realised she was missing the right pair of Spanx. Deciding to forgo the Spanx, McBryde got into the car. But, on the way to the event, she was told her dress hadn’t been light tested without Spanx.
“You see, with spanx, we had no need to light test it. But SANS spanx, there’s a chance that this fabric is TRANSPARENT UNDER CERTAIN LIGHTING! Which means there’s a chance that I appear much less than fully covered in this beautiful gown ON RED CARPET IN FRONT OF ALL OF THE MEDIA OUTLETS.”
Thankfully, photographer Katie Kauss was in the car with McBryde, and told her the dress could be light tested with a flash – just not until they got to the event.
Once there, McBryde got a photo with flash, and it was confirmed that her dress was not transparent… though it did not quash her fears.
“I did the entire red carpet fully thinking that at any moment, more than just my personality was showing. It was the most gut-wrenching red carpet moment by far.”
McBryde has since recovered from her embarrassment, and is set to co-host a televised concert special of the CMA Fest with Jelly Roll later this month (June 25).
