Lainey Wilson Shares 'Bell Bottom Country' Documentary Trailer, Release Date

May 7, 2024 - News

Disney’s ABC News Studios has created a new documentary celebrating Lainey Wilson’s meteoric rise after years of struggles, and now, you can finally watch the trailer below.

The documentary special will air on Hulu on Wednesday, 29 May – two days before her Country’s Cool Again tour begins and two weeks after this year’s ACM Awards on Thursday, 16 May (Wilson is nominated for four awards).

At the time of publication, no release date for the documentary’s premiere date in Australia has been revealed.

In the trailer for Lainey Wilson: Bell Bottom Country, the Heart Like A Truck singer sits down for interviews with ABC’s Robin Roberts and provides voice-overs atop footage of her upbringing, the camper trailer she lived in upon moving to Nashville, scanning through her collection of bell bottoms, highlighting body-shaming comments on social media, and her rise in the world of country music to where she is now—absolutely dominating the field.

Fellow country star Jelly Roll and American Idol personality Bobby Bones also star in the documentary trailer.

“I experienced a lot of rejection, a lot of heartache,” Wilson remarked at the start of the trailer. “I’m a tough woman, but it’s not easy. I have my days where you gotta do whatever you can to crawl out of those dark holes.”

Later in the video, Wilson commented, “I remember sittin’ out in this camper trailer, cryin’ my eyes out, thinking, ‘Is it ever gone happen?’ But Mama and Daddy didn’t raise no quitter.”

Just days ago, a new song featuring Lainey Wilson dropped.

Keith Urban released Go Home W U, a duet with Wilson, after teasing a possible collaboration before her first-ever performance (and headline gig) at CMC Rocks Queensland.

At this year’s ACM Awards, Wilson has been nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (for Heart Like A Truck), and Music Event of the Year (for Save Me with Jelly Roll). At the CMT Awards, she won the Female Video Of The Year award for Watermelon Moonshine.
