VIDEO PREMIERE: Tammy Moxon – 'Ready Now'

May 2, 2024 - News

Contemporary Australian country music artist Tammy Moxon is back with her latest uplifting, cheerful single, Ready Now. The song is officially out tomorrow, but Countrytown exclusively premieres the music video today.

The video, produced by Justin Reid and filmed at the Tasman Holiday Parks caravan park in the small Queensland town of Rollingstone (40 minutes north of Townsville), finds Moxon skipping down the streets as the banjo and electric instruments accompany her rich vocals.

I’m ready now/ sing with burning desire,” Moxon sings as more townsfolk join her. Four of them make up her bandmates, and the rest of the town watches them perform from a stage at the end of the video.

Joined by songwriting partner Allan Caswell and multi-Golden Guitar-winning producer Shane Nicholson (Beccy Cole, Lyn Bowtell), Moxon has created an instant classic of Australiana. You can watch the music video below.

Moxon said in a press release about working with Nicholson, “Shane took this song to another level. He really honed in on the Bluegrass sound, but he made this song a hybrid—combining bluegrass and contemporary country.”

Ready Now was born during the COVID-19 pandemic, when Moxon, like many of us, sought comfort and light in the middle of another lockdown. She comments, “I wrote Ready Now in that initial 3-month COVID shut-down period when I needed something to cheer me up.”

Inspired by a Celtic beat you’d hear in a TV show, Moxon penned Ready Now instantly. “I couldn’t sleep until it was written. I wanted to write something that could really lift a crowd’s spirit when played with a band.”

Tammy Moxon is touring across Australia throughout the year, with her first tour date happening tomorrow (Friday, 3 May) in Queensland. You can find her scheduled tour dates below and buy concert tickets on her website.
